The reigning Premier League champions seemingly have different ambitions this season. Leicester have already lost four league matches, one more than they did throughout the 2015-2016 season.
However, Claudio Ranieri’s men are at the top of their Champions League group table with three wins and a draw. They are on the brink of qualifying for the round of 16 and the fairytale could continue in Europe. Also, Leicester City are the first team to keep a clean sheet in each of their first four Champions League games. All this points in the direction of something extraordinary in the Champions League.
Three wins and three draws from their opening ten games has put the Foxes in 11th position in the Premier League table. They have lost two and drawn two of their last five league matches and the West Brom game would be a must-win for the confidence of the squad. Leicester held Tottenham to a 1 – 1 draw at White Hart Lane last weekend, following the 3 – 1 victory over Crystal Palace.
West Brom are currently 16th in the league table after ten games. Two losses and three defeats in their last five matches have put the Baggies in a difficult position. They are just one loss away from getting sucked into the relegation zone. Tony Pulis’ men suffered a 4 – 0 loss at home against Manchester City last weekend and the 2 – 1 defeat at Liverpool prior to that. West Brom will definitely give their all to bounce back from the back-to-back losses as soon as possible.
Historically, West Brom dominate the head-to-head meetings between the two sides. However, Leicester defied all the odds last season and with a lot of quality players still at their disposal, they are the favourites to win the clash. Leicester were held to a 2 – 2 draw by West Brom at the King Power Stadium and they picked up all three points at the Hawthorns.
According to William Hill, Leicester are the favourites to win the clash. The odds of a draw are 13/5 and a West Brom win is 15/4. A draw seems to be the most probable result prior to the fixture.
