Liverpool will play host to Watford on Sunday. The Reds are in scintillating form and are firing on all cylinders. Jurgen Klopp’s men have netted 24 goals so far, more than any other side in the Premier League.
Watford have also had a positive start to the season. Water Mazzarri’s team are currently seventh in the league table, seven points behind the fourth-placed Chelsea. The Hornets finished at the 13th spot in the league table, but this season they can finish in the top half of the table.
Liverpool have won four out of their last five league matches. Their last defeat in all competitions was way back in August when Burnley beat them 2 – 0 at Turf Moor. The Merseyside giants have reigned supreme over the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester throughout all competitions. They are keeping pace with the league leaders Manchester City after recording seven wins and two draws. Unlike Arsenal and City, Liverpool get the whole week to prepare for the weekend matches which is quite evident in the intensity of their playing style.
Liverpool grabbed an impressive 2 – 4 victory at Crystal Palace at the weekend while Watford beat Hull City 1 – 0 at home.
The 18-time English champions have won four of their last five meetings against Watford. However, Watford caused an upset last season and defeated Liverpool 3 – 0 in the Vicarage Road clash.
James Milner will be back in contention for a spot in the starting eleven. Watford striker Stefano Okaka might travel with the team to Anfield after recovering from hamstring injury but having his name in the starting line-up in doubtful.
Liverpool are favourites to win according to William Hill, while the chances of a draw are 9/2. Watford are 9/1 to beat Klopp’s team before the players go for an international break. Given their recent form, Liverpool should win this match with ease.
