Barcelona and Manchester City are pitted in the same group in this season’s Champions League group stage. The Group C also consists of Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach and Scottish champions Celtic.
Pep Guardiola will make yet another return to Camp Nou but this time it will be with his new employers Manchester City. Barcelona are undoubtedly the favourites to top the group at the end of the group C and the Citizens are expected to grab the runners-up spot. However, the other two teams will be no pushovers and they are more than capable of causing some upsets.
Guardiola’s City have started the season quite well with three wins from three matches. They are keeping pace with Manchester United and Chelsea and their first big game will be at Old Trafford will test their mettle.
Barcelona won the double last season and were among the strongest candidates for the Champions League trophy until the quarter-final loss at the hands of Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
