The French Ligue 1 appears to be more competitive this season as Paris Saint Germain have a new coach at the helm. At the end of last season, the French outfit dismissed Laurent Blanc and appointed ex-Sevilla boss Unai Emery.
Emery’s start in the Ligue 1 hasn’t been perfect by any means. The Parisians have lost two and drawn one of their first seven fixtures. Last season, they lost a total of two matches throughout the entire campaign. Hence the recent results could worry the PSG hierarchy. They are currently fourth in the league table, four points behind the league leaders OGC Nice.
PSG are certainly the best team on paper in the French top division and a slow start might not mean anything by the end of the season. After all, they finished a whopping 31 points above last year’s runner-up Lyon. Therefore, they can easily outclass other teams in the league. PSG are 2/9 to be crowned the champions yet again.
Monaco are 8/1 while Mario Balotelli’s Nice, who seem to be genuine title contenders, are 12/1. Betting on Nice’s chances is a bit risky but they can certainly beat the odds.
