The English Premier League is back! And what a fixture to start the ball rolling! Manchester United play host to Spurs in the early kickoff on Saturday.

The English giants have brought in some exciting new names at Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. According to some credible sources, Barcelona’s Pedro is also on his way to Manchester and a deal could be sealed by the end of this week. United finished fourth in the 2014/15 season and they still have a play-off game to play before heading into the Champions League group stage. On August 7, the Red Devils will be drawn to one out of Monaco, Lazio, Club Brugge, CSKA Moscow and Rapid Vienna.

Louis van Gaal gave an opportunity to all his squad players to prove themselves in the preseason friendlies. Wayne Rooney and co. defeated Barcelona and two other local teams but couldn’t cope against the French champions, Paris Saint Germain. The Dutch manager has already stated that he knows what his starting eleven against Mauricio Pochettino’s team will be. The 63-year-old has a lot of attacking options at hand, while they are still unstable at the center back position.

Spurs played their last friendly game on Wednesday against AC Milan. The Londoners beat the Italian giants 2 – 0 in the Audi Cup 2015 after losing out to Rafael Benitez’s Real Madrid. Pochettino’s men played an extra game this week and have to travel to Manchester on Saturday. Hence, fatigue can play a big role as they face a totally renovated Manchester United.

Manchester United are 8/13 to beat their opponents on this opening weekend. A draw is 14/5 and Spurs are 9/2 to defeat the 20-time English champions at Old Trafford.
